CHELSEA SUGAR LAUNCHES ADULTS ONLY HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

CHELSEA SUGAR LAUNCHES ADULTS ONLY HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

Because adults deserve school holiday fun too. Kids get all the fun during the school holidays. Meanwhile, the adults are left juggling work, activities, snack requests and endless cries of "I'm bored".

That's why Chelsea Sugar is giving grown-ups something to look forward to with the launch of its first-ever Adults Only Holiday Programme, because sometimes the best response to life's little challenges is simple: Baking Solves Everything.

On Sunday 2 August, Chelsea Bay will be transformed into an adults-only baking playground, where attendees can ditch their responsibilities for a few hours and immerse themselves in baking, laughter and a healthy dose of escapism.

Leading the sessions is none other than Daniel Rankin, better known as @mancancooknz – the internet's favourite muscle-bound baker, who has built a loyal following teaching "Mankind" how to cook while staying shredded and always vibing to good music.

With a loyal following built on equal parts baking, banter and biceps, Daniel has become famous for turning kitchen content into entertainment, whether that's cracking eggs with his muscles, baking shirtless or serving up recipes with a side of humour.

Chelsea Sugar Marketing Manager Lucy Acland says the events are designed to celebrate the joy that baking can bring to even the most stressful days. "At Chelsea, we know baking can't literally solve all of life's problems, but it can make them feel a little less serious. Kids get all the fun during the school holidays, but they're not the ones organising the playdates, making the lunches and hearing 'I'm bored' 15 times a day. We thought it was about time adults got their own holiday programme – one with baking, a bit of indulgence and absolutely no children."

The classes are inspired by Chelsea's Baking Solves Everything philosophy, which encourages Kiwis to swap stress and everyday pressures for a little time in the kitchen. Daniel Rankin says he's looking forward to helping Kiwis leave their worries at the door.

"Life can be a bit serious sometimes. Baking is one of those things that forces you to slow down, get stuck in and enjoy yourself. Plus, if we're being honest, eating what you've made at the end doesn't hurt either."

Across two exclusive sessions, guests will learn the basics of baking in a fun, relaxed environment designed specifically for adults. There'll be baking, plenty of laughs and absolutely no children. Well, except the grown-up ones.

And in August, visitors to Sugar Café at Chelsea Bay will be able to purchase a slice of Daniel’s Banana & Black Cherry Rum Cake to keep the indulgence going.
