Play Festival 2024 @Western Park, Ponsonby 11am - 4pm

The Traditional Games and Play Festival is a free community on Saturday, 6 April, as part of the World of Cultures Festival.

The aim of the event is to bring different ethnic communities together to play, have fun and promote traditional games as an opportunity for cultural exchange, involving everyone.

Traditional games keep the historical memory, environmental diversity and social creativity of the different communities in Auckland alive and families will have the opportunity to celebrate and share different traditions and cultures in a new, joyful and inclusive way.

The Play Festival celebrates cultural identity, facilitates intercultural connections and creates a safe and inclusive environment for people to play, interact and simply have fun. It includes:

- traditional games for any age, delivered by play providers from diverse culture groups
- nature play and loose parts play
- arts and crafts activities
- traditional group performances
- music and dance
- ethnic street food

All ages welcome.
