Celebrated New Zealand artist Emma Bass, renowned for her sumptuous floral artworks, has brought her joyful compo- sitions to life by combining them with the ever-useful umbrella.
Emma recently exhibited in the UK and decided that London would be the perfect place to trial her prototype brolly:
t rained every day that I was there, but every time I put up my umbrella it brought a smile to myself and others. In a sea of black city brollies, why not stand out?
Emma loves using her brolly as a parasol for UV protection from the harsh New Zealand sun. No more hats!
With an artful natural bamboo handle and tip, the 23" waterproof umbrella has been constructed with quality materials and is unbreakable in windspeeds of up to 120 km/hr. The brolly’s shaft and ribs have been made from durable steel and fiberglass making it ideal for New Zealand’s changable weather conditions.
I love the process of working within an unusual format, it’s very satisfying to be able to design something that is both beautiful and functional. I’m so excited to share this creation and I have more wonderful ideas up my sleeve.
