I am writing to you as we near a decade since Lynette Kilmartin took her life on 12 December 2010.
Much has happened in that time but Lynette has always been in my thoughts and is missed immensely. While it is true that life goes on after a death, there is always a feeling of there being a gap in a previous complete circle - for me anyway. I realise that Lynette made many friends while living in Ponsonby and I would like them to know that they are in my thoughts at this time, as we all find within ourselves the strength to face another anniversary - this one the 10th - of Lynette’s choice to stop living.
Kind regards, Ann Wilson (Lynette’s sister)

With the run up to Christmas, I also remember Lynette Kilmartin, who became a friend after she was seriously injured crossing Ponsonby Road in November 2009. She ended up living only 100 metres from where she was run down...the poor soul passed away on 12 December 2010, just a year after this tragic accident. RIP lovely Lynette, I will never forget you. She is seen pictured with the wife of the taxi driver, who drove her on that terrible morning of her accident. One minutes silence for you my lovely. Rest in peace my lovely xxx
