The announcement of the closure of Whitecross Medical Centre in the heart of Ponsonby is sad news.
I deliver copies of Ponsonby News to them every month and know the team well.
Along with many other locals I am going to miss them (especially my receptionist friend Margaret) as they have helped me deal with broken arms, cracked ribs and various accidents over the years. Whitecross has always looked after me when I was at my most vulnerable.
They close on November 1st. Goodbye team we will miss you. Brad, the chemist in Whitecross is joining forces with Unichem (218 Ponsonby Road) on the corner of Vermont Street and Ponsonby Road. The closest Whitecross is now in St Luke’s Road. (MARTIN LEACH)
