Owner and Pitmaster Clint Davies, says that Memphis is certainly an inspiration for their style of cooking. “I have worked in kitchens all over the world, and over the years have fallen in love with the flavours of southern style barbecue. Memphis is renowned for it barbecue scene, and I wanted to bring that sort of love for the cuisine to those here in New Zealand. Our tender smoked meat and ribs are created with the southern style flavours we love so much, and are sure to transport those who try them to the city of Memphis itself – one bite at a time.”
Australia and NZ Director Chris Ingram says that Morepork BBQ is a venue of choice when eating in Memphis isn’t an option. “As a Memphis devotee, one of my favourite things about the destination is the food – and if I can’t eat there, I eat at my local Morepork BBQ in Ponsonby.”
