WHILE HEARTS COUNT OUR FOREVERS...

WHILE HEARTS COUNT OUR FOREVERS...

A book launch with a difference is taking place on Valentine’s Day, 14 February.

The launch will be accompanied by a theatre performance, which dramatises, in a series of humorous exchanges, conversations between the ageing French philosopher, Rene Descartes, and the very smart but potty-mouthed 25 year-old Queen Christina. The event is free.

The launch involves two books, While Hearts Count of Forevers, three novellas by Hugh Major,
and Interrogations: Selected writing 1976-1990 by Keith Hill.

"We have both been associated with The Life Centre in its earlier incarnation as the Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust’s annual book awards in the Mind, Body and Spirit genre. Keith won this award three times and I have been a finalist in the same award five times. Anyone interested in new books is urged to attend. Keith is a very accomplished writer, winning best poetry anthology of the year in The Listener two years ago. This new volume showcases his work in a number of genres including poetry. My book contains three linked novellas set in France, Sweden and England around 1650 and in Germany In 1800. All are love stories, the launch date relevant because it is Valentine’s Day.

Friday 14th February in the Zeus Room at The Life Centre, 88 Jervois Rd, 5.30 to 7.30pm

Saturday 16th February at The Matakana Hall, Matakana Valley Rd, 6.30 to 8.30pm

Free. All welcome
