Send Christmas cravings to Kiwis overseas with NZ Post

NZ Post has polled Kiwis living overseas to find out what they are craving most from home this Christmas, with just a few weeks left to send parcels overseas in time for Christmas Day.

The top 10 cravings from Kiwis overseas are:

Whittaker’s chocolate
Marmite
Kiwi Onion Dip
L&P
Pineapple Lumps
Peanut Slab
Bluebird Chips
Mallowpuffs
Scorched Almonds
Gingernuts

NZ Post’s General Manager Consumer Sarah Sandoval says if you’re planning to send a care package to a loved one overseas in time for Christmas Day, start getting organised now.

“If you want to send a parcel to the South Pacific, Europe, Asia or the UK using our economy option then you will need to post it by Friday 24 November – with the rest of the world needing to be sent by Monday 20 November. If you're sending to Australia, you've got a few more days to send, with economy parcels needing to be sent by 29 November.”

Cut-off dates for courier and express items can be found on nzpost.co.nz – along with other helpful information for sending overseas.

“We know there are lots of Kiwis living overseas who would like to receive some classic Kiwi love this Christmas, and NZ Post is so proud to deliver this. I know my friends and family based overseas love getting a parcel filled with Peanut Slabs and Pineapple Lumps – it always goes down a treat. It’s not just the food either – it’s knowing that someone at home is thinking about you,” says Sarah.

Last year NZ Post delivered over 18million items domestically and internationally in the eight weeks leading up to Christmas.

The largest number of international tracked parcels* were sent to Australia, followed by Great Britain and the United States of America. The country to receive the smallest number – of only one tracked item – was Panama in Central America.

“It will again be a big couple of months for NZ Post and our people,” says Sarah. “We are gearing up for a busy season of delivering Kiwi Christmas joy across the globe.”

International sending cut-off dates vary depending on destination and the chosen delivery service but those who want to take advantage of NZ Post’s economy international service will need to send items in November. Everything Kiwis need to know about sending items within New Zealand and overseas can be found on the NZ Post website.
