Helen White is a barrister, who grew up in Freemans Bay in Auckland, White is acutely aware of the challenges that the city will face in the coming years. With over 25 years experience in employment law she has become a leading voice in advocating for worker’s rights. Over this time she has worked for a variety of unions including EPMU and the Amalgamated Workers Union. Helen believes that employment is a fundamental right, it allows people freedom, choice and to contribute to their community, which is why she spends her day fighting for equality and fairness in the work place.
White loves the atmosphere of Auckland Central, the new development of shared spaces making it walkable and the diverse small businesses that are at the heart of the city's culture. White is honoured to be selected again to represent Labour as the candidate for Auckland Central in 2020.
