Vivace joins Hotel DeBrett - two iconic Auckland brands unite

Two of Auckland’s most beloved hospitality legacies - Vivace Restaurant and Hotel DeBrett, have come together to launch an exciting new chapter in the city’s dining scene. Vivace Restaurant & Bar at DeBretts officially opens its doors on 16th October, blending Vivace’s vibrant culinary culture with the boutique art deco elegance of Hotel DeBrett.

Established in the 1990s, Vivace has long been synonymous with downtown Auckland dining, known for its modern New Zealand and European cuisine, expertly crafted cocktails, and warm, welcoming service. Hotel DeBrett, a beautifully restored 5 star boutique hotel in the heart of Auckland, has a celebrated history of hosting locals and visitors alike within its art deco-inspired walls.

“We’re thrilled to bring Vivace into the stunning surrounds of Hotel DeBrett,” say acclaimed restaurateurs Mandy and Gene. “This is more than a move, it’s a merging of two icons to create something truly special for Auckland. Guests will find everything they’ve always loved about Vivace, now with the added charm and character of DeBretts.”

Guests can expect Vivace’s signature sharing plates packed with flavour, a carefully curated wine list showcasing local artisan producers, and expertly crafted cocktails. Vivace at DeBretts is open daily for breakfast, coffee, lunch, sips & nibbles, and dinner, plus its famous 1920s-inspired High Tea every Saturday and Sunday.

“It’s a natural fit,” adds Jess Singh, Hotel Manager at Hotel DeBrett. “Both brands have strong ties to Auckland’s heritage and hospitality. Together, we’re creating an experience that honours the past, while offering something fresh and exciting for the future.”

Opening 16 October, Vivace Restaurant & Bar at DeBretts is located on Level 1 of Hotel DeBrett, in the heart of Auckland. Visit Vivace’s Instagram.
