As Auckland’s social scene cools down a bit over the winter, TRIBE Auckland Fort Street is bucking the trend and bringing the vibes back into the CBD with the Pacific-first launch of TRIBE Vinyl Club.
Teaming up with iconic Auckland record store, Real Groovy, the programme has come to Aotearoa following a successful rollout in Europe’s cultural hubs including Paris and Amsterdam - a testament to the vinyl-loving underbelly of Auckland’s own vibrant cultural scene. The programme features in-lobby and in-store listening stations at both venues, and excitingly, TRIBE Auckland Fort Street is launching a series of monthly community listening parties.
About the monthly listening parties
The sessions, held on the first Thursday of each month, will bring together local music lovers, culture seekers and city visitors for a monthly ritual of analogue sound, food, drinks and community.
Hosted by a rotating line-up of musicians, DJs and culture makers to be announced each month, these social sessions are positioned to become a social ritual for vinyl obsessives, casual listeners, and locals and travellers alike looking for something new to do in the city.
About the listening stations
Positioned in the hotel lobby, and coming soon in-store at Real Groovy, vinyl enthusiasts can settle in and enjoy a rotating selecting of vinyls curated by the team at Real Groovy. Both listening stations have been outfitted with thoughtfully selected furniture and premium audio equipment for high-quality audio experience for hotel guests and Real Groovy patrons respectively.
The vinyl collection at each location will also feature TRIBE’s own limited-edition global LP, New Grounds. The record brings together artists including Khruangbin, Danny Brown, Brian Eno, John Cale, Martina Topley-Bird and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, alongside four unreleased tracks created exclusively for TRIBE.
