This September, Park Hyatt Auckland proudly celebrates its fifth anniversary, marking a remarkable journey that began during one of the most challenging periods.
Since opening its doors in 2020 at the height of the global pandemic, the hotel has grown to become one of New Zealand’s most celebrated luxury destinations, recognised as the Best Hotel in New Zealand by DestinAsian, named among the Top 50 Hotels in the World by Condé Nast Traveler and awarded Travel + Leisure’s title of Best City Hotel in New Zealand.
What started as a bold decision to open in uncertain times has evolved into five years of award-winning experiences, heartfelt hospitality and strong connections with the local community. From getaways, weddings, corporate events and milestone celebrations, Park Hyatt Auckland has redefined luxury in Aotearoa.
To commemorate the milestone, the hotel is inviting guests to join a celebration this September, featuring exclusive events and curated experiences across its venues, all overseen by Executive Chef Brent Martin, who leads the culinary vision across every outlet.

“Reaching five years is a meaningful milestone for both Fu Wah Investments, the owners of Park Hyatt Auckland and the dedicated team who bring passion to their work every day” says Brett Sweetman, General Manager of Park Hyatt Auckland. “We opened during a time of global uncertainty, but our vision of demonstrating luxury whilst showcasing the New Zealand culture has always been clear. This celebration is not only a moment of reflection, but also our way of saying thank you to the dedicated colleagues, guests, and partners who helped shape what Park Hyatt Auckland is today.”
As Park Hyatt Auckland celebrates this milestone, it also honours the people who have shaped its journey, from the passionate team who brought the hotel to life during a time of global uncertainty, to the loyal guests, partners and local community who have supported since day one. Over the past five years, the hotel has proudly championed local artisans, producers and cultural connections, bringing the spirit of Aotearoa to life in every detail. As it looks ahead, Park Hyatt Auckland remains committed to delivering thoughtful and authentic hospitality. This September, guests are warmly invited to celebrate five years of waterfront elegance, creativity and connection and to be part of the next chapter in its story.
