NINJA RUN A CHANCE FOR ADVENTURE AND PHILANTHROPY IN AUCKLAND

NINJA RUN A CHANCE FOR ADVENTURE AND PHILANTHROPY IN AUCKLAND

Children from across the Auckland region will throng to an early Spring adventure activity next week, raising money for thousands of children living in poverty around New Zealand in the process.

Ninja Run, a 2.5km inflatable adventure course at Kumeu Showgrounds from November 14 to 22, has named Variety as its children’s charity of choice for the 16-stop national tour finishing in Hamilton in April next year, with a portion of all ticket sales tagged for important programmes to assist children with the essentials to thrive.

Variety chief executive Willa Hand says in the Auckland region alone, the charity sponsors 3445 children who often miss out on things like clothing, shoes, food, school uniforms, stationery, camp and sport.

The charity currently has 1400 Auckland children on the wating list, some who have been waiting for up to two years desperate for help, with 2688 children in total waiting around the country.

“We are thrilled that Ninja Valley – which operates the Ninja Run – has chosen our charity for  2026/27, and we ask parents in the Auckland region to please support our work by giving your children the opportunity to have some fun while raising money for those who don’t get the same chances as they do,” Hand says.

“Make sure you watch out for some of our well-known Variety ambassadors who will be bringing their children to the event to take part.”

The Ninja Run features inflatables up to 40m long, a 13m waterslide, ‘big balls’, a 4m freefall drop and many other obstacles, medals for every participant and the chance to qualify for local city finals.

In addition, the Ninja Run also includes a water slide for children aged one to five.

“Most people are able to give their children everything they dream about, but for a rising number of families, it is almost impossible to do that with today’s cost of living,” Hand says. “Every child deserves all opportunities available to do well in life, and by treating your kids to a fun event, you are helping children living in severe material hardship to do just that.”

Each of the events around the country will produce local city finals, with the top qualifier in several divisions being offered the chance to compete at a nationwide event in Hamilton in March, where a champion will be crowned.
