New World has announced its top picks for its annual beer and cider awards

New World has announced its top picks for its annual beer and cider awards, with Isthmus brewing taking out the Supreme Champion award for its flagship beer: the 3D IPA.

Judges blind-tasted and awarded the best of the best of Kiwi brewing that ranged from traditional excellence to playful innovation:

  • This year marks the debut of the "Weird & Wonderful" category, with marvels from the tangy Garage Project Spicy Pickle to the sweet fruit smoothie of Three Sisters Lush
  • For the first time ever, New World is honouring Alcoholic Lemonade from Frankton favorites Good George - made Old School.
  • Those seeking alcoholic-free alternatives won't have to sacrifice full-bodied flavour with Bach's of All Hazy Non-Alcoholic and cider innovator Peckham's Classic Apple Zero.
  • Many winners are proud to hark back to nostalgic brews but made with a modern twist, like the hoppy Pilsners from debut winners Heaven's Judas Sheep and Mad Whale's Helles Lager.
  • But the Supreme Champions, Isthmus Brewing, make a comeback with their flagship beer: the 3D IPA. Co-owners Hamish and Caroline creation is the epitome of their philosophy of drinkability while staying true to its cult sensation and award-winning status.

This year, New World made the competition even tougher by shortening the legacy Top 30 list to a Top 25.

This rounds out the Top 25 of the New World Beer and Cider Awards as a true showcase of the nostalgic and the fresh coming to New Zealand shelves. It's a celebration of creativity, quality, and Kiwi resilience. This one is not one to be ignored.
