Ken Ring: Weather by the moon Auckland weather diary, June 2025

June sees less than half the rain average, but may be cloudier than the norm, with average sunshine and temperatures.

The second week sees the sunshine hours and highest pressures, and the third week the most rain and lowest pressures, while the fourth week may be the cloudiest. The last week may be the driest. The weekend of the 7th-8th should be the best for outdoor activities. The barometer may average around 1018mbs for the month.

For fishermen, the highest tide is on the 26th. The best fishing bite times in the east may be around dusk of 10th-11th, and 24th-26th. Bite chances are also good around lunchtimes of the 2nd-4th, and 18th-20th.

For gardeners, planting is best from 1st-10th and 27th-30th (waxing moon ascending), and pruning is best during 13th-24th (waning moon descending). For preserving and longer shelf-life, harvest crops or flowers around the neap tides of the 8th and 20th.

Allow 24-hour error for all forecasting. (KEN RING)
