The Western Springs Speedway Association has filed at the High Court for judicial review against Auckland Councils Speedway consolidation decision to relocate Speedway to Waikaraka Park.
A disturbing abuse of process has involved predetermination, conflicts of interest, skewing of support for the decision, misleading and incorrect information, and omission of information required to conduct due diligence. Add to the mix fabricated, tampered and misrepresented documents.
Individuals linked to these fabrications were permitted to exert an undue influence over the process with little or no apparent oversight from those in positions of authority.
Senior management within Tataki Auckland Unlimited, Council and the mayoral department were all aware of what transpired. They have also been notified by external parties FOUR TIMES regarding these issues. Most recently by Act MP Simon Court who has formally requested a review by the Audit and Risk Committee and raised awareness to the Local Government Minister Simon Watts.
Senior management collectively have chosen to continue with “an agenda” whilst ignoring their obligations under the Local Government act to provide a fair, reasonable and lawful process. Ultimately ignoring the community
The Sport and community have been completely shut out of any say that is driven by a private deal involving an $11milion transfer of rate payers’ money.
WSSA submitted an Expression of Interest but has received conflicting statements from senior management within council leading to doubt that there would be fair consideration, if at all.
This culminated with the mayor’s recent online media release continuing the same rhetoric from the Governing Body Meeting delivering statements that cannot be backed by the figures that Tataki Auckland Unlimited refuse to provide.
The WSSA has over 1000 paid members representing the sport and community, the decision to file at this time was made immediately clear.
The mayor who has openly campaigned for the dissolution of CCO’s could have easily used this case for support in dissolving TAU, but a paper trail of involvement leads directly to the Mayoralty office.
Irrefutable and extensive evidence exists on the public record for a case that all Aucklanders should support if they care at all about their own democracy.
