Community groups, schools, sports clubs and not-for-profits across Auckland are being encouraged to apply for support through Kinetic's Moving Communities Fund, with grants of up to $10,000 and additional in-kind assistance available.
Now in its second year in Aotearoa, the fund provides financial support alongside practical assistance such as transport, marketing support, bus-back advertising, radio campaigns and digital billboard advertising, helping organisations expand their reach and impact within their communities.
A total of $80,000 is available through the 2026 programme, supporting organisations working across areas including accessibility and health, youth and community wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, education, environmental sustainability, cultural connection and local support services.
The fund follows a strong first year in New Zealand, which attracted close to 300 applications from organisations across Aotearoa, with 18 groups receiving funding or other support.
Last year’s recipients included organisations delivering homelessness support services, accessibility advocacy, road safety initiatives and youth wellbeing programmes across New Zealand. In Auckland, organisations including YWCA Auckland and Diamonds in the Rough were among those supported.
Kinetic New Zealand Managing Director Calum Haslop said the company was encouraging eligible organisations to put their hand up and apply.
"If you're part of a community group making a positive difference locally, we'd love to hear from you.
“The applications we received in our first year were incredibly inspiring. They ranged from Orange Sky Aotearoa providing laundry services and support for people experiencing homelessness, to CCS Disability Action researching the transport barriers disabled New Zealanders face every day, and the Wairarapa Road Safety Council supplying high-visibility vests to students on rural roads, including many on our own school bus routes.
"Our people live and work in the communities we serve across Aotearoa, so we know the incredible work happening at the grassroots level. The breadth and heart of these organisations, doing so much with limited resources, really stood out.
"The Moving Communities Fund is designed to help community groups continue delivering meaningful outcomes locally, whether that's through financial support or practical assistance that helps them reach more people. We're looking forward to hearing from the next wave of organisations doing vital work across the country."
Applications are now open at www.wearekinetic.com/community and close 24 June. Successful recipients will be announced in August.
