The Auckland Asia Festival is set to make its grand return on 11–12 October 2025 at the Auckland Showgrounds, Epsom, promising its most exciting edition yet. Having begun almost three decades ago, the festival is making a comeback as New Zealand’s largest two-day Asian Festival, and this year it promises a truly holistic showcase of Asia — from an Asia NZ Business Expo and performances to food and travel inspiration.
Few events in New Zealand offer the chance to experience so many different cultures in a single weekend. The Auckland Asia Festival celebrates every corner of Asia: from the traditions of East Asia to the rhythms of South and Southeast Asia, and the flavours and arts of West Asia. Performances range from the hype of K-pop dances and the spectacle of lion dances to authentic traditional dances presented by local cultural groups. Creating a program that reflects every corner of Asia.
Beyond the stages and performances, the festival is also a serious platform for business and community connection. The exhibition areas include the Asia Wealth & Property Expo, Asia Travel Expo, and Taste of Asia Expo — creating opportunities for businesses to engage directly with thousands of visitors. Platinum sponsors AMI, Honda and Ichinen Autos, anchor this year’s event and highlight the strength of commercial support. For potential exhibitors, it is a chance to connect with an audience that is curious, diverse, and eager to engage.
“The exhibition is where culture and commerce come together. It’s a powerful chance for businesses to stand out, connect with tens of thousands of engaged visitors, and be part of Auckland’s biggest Asian showcase.” – Mel Fernandez, Organiser
No celebration of Asia is complete without food — and this year’s festival serves up the largest gathering of Asian dishes ever seen in New Zealand. Not only will the festival feature favourite dishes like fragrant curries, juicy dumplings, Thai skewers and Tanghulu, the Flavours of Asia Street Food Walk will tempt visitors with hard-to-find dishes rarely found even at night markets. While food is a major draw, organisers emphasise that it’s just one part of the bigger picture. The true strength of the festival lies in uniting culture, commerce, travel, and lifestyle under one roof.
Travel is another key theme of the Auckland Asia Festival. The Asia Business Expo is one section that will showcase destinations, experiences, and opportunities across the region, encouraging visitors to turn inspiration into their next holiday. Whether through food, performances, or exhibitions, each part of the festival serves as a gateway to discovering more of Asia.
The Auckland Asia Festival is designed for everyone to enjoy. Entry is free and no ticket is required, making it accessible for families, students, and visitors of all ages. Over two days, the Auckland Showgrounds will transform into a cultural hub, with something to engage every visitor.
This year marks its biggest edition yet, with more exhibitors, performances, and food vendors than ever before. For general visitors, it is a chance to explore the richness of Asia without leaving Auckland. For businesses and community groups, it is a platform to showcase, connect, and grow.
“Each year Auckland grows not just in size, but in diversity. The Auckland Asia Festival is a space where cultural harmony shines, businesses thrive, and communities come together. It’s about celebrating the diversity of Asia while creating real connections right here in Auckland.” – Mel Fernandez, Organiser
