Explore the Waiheke Garden Festival by e-bike this spring
Garden lovers can explore the Jassy Dean Trust Waiheke Garden Festival on two wheels this November, with a special e-bike package giving visitors access to 10 spectacular private gardens across the island.
Taking place on 7–8 November 2026, the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, bringing together beautiful gardens, local art, live music, plant sales and delicious food — with all proceeds supporting Waiheke children and families with health needs.
Thanks to the generous support of eRide Waiheke, visitors can hire an e-bike for the full day and enjoy access to all 10 festival gardens for just $115 if booked by midnight 30 September, or $125 thereafter.
The eRide Garden Festival Package includes:
- Full-day e-bike hire
- Garden Festival ticket – valid for both days
- Helmet, pannier bag and e-bike lock
- Phone holder for the use with Waiheke Guide App
And, importantly, all eRide bike-hire proceeds go directly to The Jassy Dean Trust, helping provide practical support to local families caring for a child with health needs.
Festival Coordinator Jo Ewer says the e-bike option is a great way to experience the festival and the island.
“We love the idea of people creating their own festival adventure by e-bike. The gardens are spread across some beautiful parts of the island, so it’s a great way to combine the festival with the scenery, while also supporting a really important local cause.”
eRide Waiheke owner Mark Seavill says the package offers visitors a fun and sustainable way to get around the island.
“The gardens stretch from Oneroa to Onetangi, so exploring them by e-bike gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to see more of Waiheke along the way. We’re really proud to support The Jassy Dean Trust and be part of this special island event.”
And there’s a little reward along the way. Visitors arriving by e-bike at Garden 5 can enjoy free morning tea and a scone — the perfect excuse to stop, refuel and soak up the views.
For planning routes and finding places to eat along the way, visitors can also use the Waiheke Guide app, which features an interactive festival map, connecting routes, garden information and lunch partners.
For those who prefer to explore by car or shuttle, parking is available at most gardens, with a free shuttle provided for gardens with limited access. Fullers360 will also operate a bus tour to selected gardens.
Riders must be 12 years or older and over 150cm tall.
The Jassy Dean Trust Waiheke Garden Festival is a major fundraiser for the Trust, which supports local families caring for children with health needs. Funds help with practical costs such as ferry travel for hospital visits, medication, medical equipment not funded by government and school health programmes.
