Long lunch reaps huge reward for Auckland City Hospital stroke patients

Before Auckland’s second lockdown, there was plenty to celebrate when long-time Grey Lynn local Paul Harvey raised over $7,500 at his latest fundraising lunch at Chapel Bar & Bistro.

More than 9,000 people suffer a stroke every year in New Zealand, including Paul, who is committed to helping other stroke sufferers and saying ‘thank you’ for the care he received on the stroke rehab ward at Auckland City Hospital. This was his Paul’s fifth and most successful fundraiser to date, and he’s already planning his next event, bringing another feel-good lunch to Ponsonby. Paul works with the Auckland Health Foundation, the charity supporting Auckland City Hospital, to ensure all funds raised make the biggest possible difference.

Huge thanks to Paul’s generous sponsors for this wonderful result, and special thanks to Kara Barnston-Yelavich and Megan Paddy for their support.
