Truly one of Aotearoa’s most iconic streets, Karangahape Road is a community of passionate people in Auckland’s most vibrant district.
‘Good Exposure’ will be showcasing some of Auckland’s finest artists with a creative and challenging art show designed specifically for K’ Road. Hosted by Blackboard cafe, you can get your art and caffeine fix at the same time!
Head down to West Terrace to catch Upu Mai Whetū, who will be sharing their critically acclaimed show with us. Upu Mai Whetū delivers impassioned spoken word performances of literature written by Pacific & Māori pioneers. Kicking off at 6.30pm, this is one show not to be missed.
Then head over to Beresford Square where Flying Out record store, a proud member of our creative community, will be bringing you the world-class sound of our local musicians when they take over with live music from 8pm.
But that’s not all. There are many more innovative activations (too many to list!) that will stretch along the street from the corner of Ponsonby & K’ Road to the intersection of Queen Street. The businesses of K’ Road will be coming to the party too with activations of their own! Specials, giveaways, decorations, in-store performances and more. Our First Thursdays street installations might only happen twice a year, but our businesses are epic all year round.
